Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on Laksa
Ingredients
Portion A
- 3 thumb-sized pieces tumeric
- 1 teacup galangal, sliced
- 20 dried chillies
- 5 red chillies
- 1 rice bowl shallot (about 50 pieces)
- 5 stalks lemon grass
- 10 clove garlic
- 2-tablespoon shrimp paste (Belachan)
Portion B
- ½ rice bowl pounded dried prawns
- 2 stalks of lemon grass
- 1 can of 400g Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on powder
- 20 pieces of cooked fishballs
- 500g of cooked fresh prawns (Keep prawn stock as gravy)
- 500g of cooked chicken breast
- Mint leaves
- US Lettuce
- Thinly shredded cucumber
- Polygonum
- 1kg fresh rice vermicelli (soak the vermicelli till soft but not soggy. Rinse in cold water.)
Method
- Grind portion A to a fine paste.
- Heat 200ml oil in wok. Fry paste and lemon grass till fragrant.
- Add water to prawn stock (till about 3.5litres) and boil.
- Add the fried paste, pounded dried prawns, 2-tablespoon salt. Stir the gravy and bring to boil for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to simmering point. Add about 360g of Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on powder and stir slowly to prevent curdling. Add more Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on if you prefer a thicker gravy.
To Serve Place rice vermicelli in bowl. Add hot gravy, prawns, chicken, fishball, cucumber and mint leave.
Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on Chocolate Chip Muffins

Yield: 1 dozen
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup (240ml/8 fl oz)
- 4 scoops of Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on formula
- 1 cup of warm, boiled water
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degree Farhenheit (250 degrees Celsius).
- Add 4 scoops of Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on formula to 1 cup of warm, boiled water. Mix until completely dissolved.
- Stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Make a well in the center. In a small bowl, beat the egg with a fork. Stir in previously prepared Isomil® 2 Advance® Soy Follow-on and oil. Pour all at once into the well in the flour mixture. Mix quickly and lightly with a fork until moistened, but do not beat. The batter will be lumpy. Add chocolate chips and mix quickly, do not beat. Pour the batter into paper lined muffin pan cups.
- Variations:
Blueberry Muffins: Add 1 cup fresh blueberries.
Raisin Muffins: Add 1 cup finely chopped raisins.
Cheese Muffins: Fold in 1 cup grated sharp yellow cheese.
Bacon Muffins: Fold in ¼ cup crisp cooked bacon, broken into bits.
Dried Mixed Fruit Muffins: Add 1 cup of dried mixed fruit.
Banana Walnut Muffins: Add 1 cup of chopped walnuts and 2-3 mashed ripe bananas.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden.
