What you can do:

Give your child something special to do while he's moving to the music.

• You can make a streamer by attaching a strip of crepe paper or ribbon to a plastic stick.
• Or give your child a scarf to move to the rhythm of music.
• As a challenge: Teach your child a simple dance such as the "Hokey Pokey" which is made up of a repetition of pattern movements.

You put your right foot in,
You put your right foot out,
You put your right foot in,
And you shake it all about...
You do the Hokey Pokey (both hands on hips and shake)
And you turn yourself around.
