I use colourful vegetables, usually frozen mixed veggies like corn, carrots and peas in most meals, and sometimes I let my son help me prepare the meals. He likes fish ball noodle soup so I use this combination as a base and slip in other vegetables or meat for variation.

My girl eats painfully slow at main meals but speeds through with fruits, so I alternate between fruits and rice throughout the meal. I reward her with a bite of fruit with each mouthful of rice, to motivate her to finish her meal.

It's not the food; It's the attitude towards food. Teach children that meal times are fun because that's when the whole family gets together to share and laugh with one another. Don't fret over the food mess they cause during meals.

Get the kids involved in the cooking process, like slicing carrots and cutting them into shapes as food decoration, i.e. green peas as eyes, stripped seaweed as hair on sushi rice. Most importantly, before they get started, make a deal with them that they have to eat what they cook.

Buy a nice, cute plate, bowl and spoon for them. They will enjoy what they eat using the cutlery.

I try different types of food to understand what my daughter really likes, and introducing food varieties to minimise food fatigue. At one stage, my daughter was tired of eating rice and potatoes, so I introduced spaghetti, which she enjoys once in a while. I cut vegetables into smaller pieces and cover them with spaghetti. Sometimes, I will let her feel and hold her food, to explore eating in a fun way.
