I took care of my baby on my own during the confinement period and was back at work after 8 weeks. I still look after my baby at nights. After several months, I am almost back in shape!

Looking after my boy helped me get back into shape, especially after he started to crawl and is now learning to stand/walk. He's a really active baby who just won't lie or sit still. Trying to keep up with him is definitely a good work out!

Breastfeeding, taking care of my newborn, drinking lots of fluids and having meals consisting of vegetables, steamed fish and eggs got me back into shape almost quite immediately. I could fit into my pre-natal jeans when my baby was 6-weeks old.

I explored the neighbourhood by foot w baby in his stroller for an hour almost every morning after my confinement period. This strengthened our bonding, allowed me to know more about my neighbourhood and get me back into shape.

I believed the following activities contributed to regaining my weight and shape back:
Breast feeding: Top of my list; I continued that for 9 months.
Stretch exercises and jogging: Brought back my flexibilty as pregnancy gave me stiff joints and aches.
Weight management programme: I think it helped me reduce fats, water retention and toned up my saggy skin while I lost the weight.

I simply keep busy around the house. As I am a homemaker and I don't employ a maid, I do my own housework. Moving from one thing to another keeps my metabolism up, which in turn helps me feel good and enables me to keep going. I also take regular walks with my baby and husband. This basic aerobic activity coupled with breastfeeding/pumping made it that much easier.

Javanese-style post natal massage for 1 week. Breastfeeding was still the best method. Although my baby refused to latch on, I gave her breastmilk for almost 15 months, just by expressing with a manual pump...

Nothing but brisk walking; I go for 1-hour morning walks. My simple diet consists of avoiding fatty items. I consumed lots of vegetables and fruits with plenty of water. Now I am back in shape.

I am still breastfeeding so i think that helps to get me back into shape. Besides that I also run once a week and practise yoga at least once every 2 days.

I managed to revert back to my normal weight i.e. loss of 17 kg around the 3.5 months after delivery of my third baby. All I can say is that breastfeeding is the best way to get back into shape. Besides, being active with my two elder boys by bringing them out for outdoor activities like cycling, swimming on weekends and strolling at parks with my baby work well for me.

Breastfeeding and taking care of the children myself helped shed those kilos. After I stopped breastfeeding 14 months later, jogging and a sensible diet helped me to maintain my weight.

I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight and I believe it is due to a combination of factors
(1) maintaining a healthy balanced diet,
(2) regular yoga and
(3) exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months.
Before giving birth, I also ensure that I have a good balanced diet (not over-eating for 2) and practised regular pre-natal yoga, which I believe also helped in getting me back into shape quickly.
