Dr Chan Kin Ming graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1983, and subsequently obtained his Masters in Internal Medicine in 1988. In 1991, he obtained his Diploma in Geriatric Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow. In 1993, he was elected Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
He set up and headed the first Geriatric Centre in Singapore at Alexandra Hospital in 1994 and in 1998, he was also appointed concurrent Head of Department of Geriatric Medicine at Changi General Hospital and Senior Clinical Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
In 2000, he left to set up his own private practice at Gleneagles Hospital, and recently, a second clinic at Mt Alvernia Hospital. He is currently Visiting Senior Consultant Geriatrician to Singapore General Hospital, Changi General Hospital and various Nursing Homes. He is also the Executive Chairman of Ang Mo Kio-Thye Hua Kwan Hospital and listed in the Marquis Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare (2004) - a recognition for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their own fields of endeavor.
