Nutritional donations help alleviate child hunger concerns

The current recession is exacerbating problems of childhood nutrition, an issue that Abbott Nutrition is committed to addressing in all of the communities we serve. We are pleased, therefore, to support the Southwest Community Development Council's innovative Recession Package iCOPE (Interim Coping Package for Economic Downturn). It provides good nutrition to the children of Singapore families who have been severely affected by the recession, "It gives us an opportunity to give back to our community," said Ms. Hui Hwa Koh-Minjoot, General Manager, Abbott Nutrition in Singapore.

Around 2,500 cans were donated over three occasions since January 2009, comprising of GROW and GROW SCHOOL formulas, a milk product specially formulated for growing children, with nutrients that include DHA, choline, taurine, calcium and vitamin D to support overall growth, learning and development.

Overall, Abbott Nutrition contributed US$60,000 worth of GROW.
